Well done, Larry. I can't even imagine what it would be like. I couldn't do it. I know that. My ancestors were Mennonites.
Conscientious objectors'. They supplied the food for the army by farming. God Bless all the brave fighting men who keep us safe and the farmers who keep us fed. Well done. Nancy:)

Mr. Green, you will bring to light a great deal of hurt. I want to read everything you find I was a soldier and many do not talk of the ugliness we all seen. It is not easy. A lot of people want the past to be forgotten. I'm not one because the past happened and we must learn from it. As long as the past is from the past. Thank you for sharing.

Hi there poetwatch, I think, some people who criticize President Lincoln, do so through a filtered, biased, self-serving lens. Although there are, some very honest, and well balanced views of his life, by true historians. But here, I am talking about those who serve their own interests, and their own agenda's first, without fair research and understanding of the time. If you think I am getting to far left, or right on the subject, as you review this story, please let me know. That is why I place my stories on FanStory first. What an interesting and intriguing concept. I just read a post by a writer here on FS that details some of the events that were taking place as Lincoln took office - so much of it coincides with the things we are experiencing now - it's actually uncanny.
