So very true, our politicians are a mirror to our soul. Thank you for including scripture to this very well written and honestly, direct poem. I like how you separated the stanzas with (Politicians) and (us) which goes to the heart of the problem created by the "us and them" mentality. God bless you brother, and well done!

I fully agree with you, Sir. Blaming the politicians or anybody won't help us. Let us do our parts and duties so that we could do something great for our countries. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem.

I like this rhyming internal argument. It is so true. We just she politicians harder than we do ourselves. We mostly vote for those like us. Though, sometimes we vote against someone instead of for the opponent.
Keep writing and stay healthy

If you are in the public eye you are constantly criticised and you can't do right for doing wrong. As history records those great men we now admire, but at the time they too were criticised. The public are tenacious when they want to lay the blame, a poignant write Roy, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

That was a really interesting format of a poem, interesting idea, great and suitable image selected! I do agree that politicians are a mirror of the society, and just the same humans as we all are - making mistakes, saying wrong things, doing wrong things sometimes... It doesn't mean that we should close our eyes towards their actions, but it also doesn't mean we can throw stones to them any time something wrong happens! Thank you for sharing, have a nice day!

Hello Roy, a well written topical poem that is particularly relevant here in UK. We have a leader who no-one dreamed would get to be Prime Minister. Voted in, as you say by the people, but it is not always a sensible or true indication of the person. He may appeal because he acts like one of the boys and the reaction is - he's a good chap, give him a chance. It is called democracy and we need it but of course it does not mean the right person got the job. Look at history! But there you are countries survive despite the disruption caused by politics. Nice to read your work. Warm regards Dorothy x

The Bible does say. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. It sounds like none of us have the right to condemn anyone else but then if we follow the example of Christ, He had some pretty harsh words for the Scribes and Pharisees. On the other hand, he was without sin and we aren't. At least, we can choose to not vote for liars. The Bible says liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire. I'm not convinced He chooses all leaders. Sometime he allows the people to choose. Saul wasn't his choice but the people wanted him for king and God allowed it.

The Bible says He chooses them in Ephesians 6:12, I believe also that He will bring everything to pass. Thank you Beth, great review, blessings Roy

Blessings Mr. Royowen,
I've also found today a verse that may also apply to political ideologies. Leaders must also Remember to Serve all members of the political spectrum regardless of party. Thanks for Sharing

Galatians 5:13 KJV
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Yes there?s a guidance for soldiers, and we could join that with police in Luke 3:14, not to take advantage of their position to gain money from their position thanks so much for this great review, blessings Roy

I enjoyed reading your poem and I do agree with you. It is our place not to judge and to pray. I have been praying for our country for well over a year. I have no clue why God wants our democracy to fold.

They are actually chosen by our own people (not necessarily in this last election.)
