Quite a nice piece connecting two lonely souls who need the companionship of the other to navigate the challenges of the moment. A tell of how shared circumstances can bond people together. Well done, Rod.

This eighty-word flash fiction story, Take Me Home, has the proper word count and extends the initial idea to a nicely formed short short tale of people finding each other while looking in other directions.

This is a wonderful read. It tugs at the heartstrings both in your telling of your story and the picture you choose to compliment your story.
Thank you for the read.
Regards
Mary

Ciao poet!

I just read your entry ... it hit a nerve and teared me up.

I imagine that this particular incident is just fiction yet these poor dogs do exist in shelters

sadly so few are adopted and given a second chance at a happy forever life/ home .

With your heart touching narrative you gave these misfortune souls a voice .

Keep safe!

Thank you so much, tempeste, for this wonderful review and those six bright stars. I am glad my story could ?hit a nerve? as I, too, am touched by the TV ads showing so many dogs needing homes, but ever rescued from shelters. Rod

Actually for years I help a close friend who rescues stray cats on the road .. when she has too much work , she gives me newborns or kittens to bottle feed etc until they are two months..then she finds happy forever homes for them.

I write often poems about strays .. yours was exceptional .

I hope you have a peaceful Sunday

    Keep safe!

Well done! Nice use of the 80 words with a sweet story. You accomplished a lot in a small space. Isn't it always the eyes that get you. Good luck in the contest.

The love is shown in the eyes of the dog for the man; the man displayed his love for the dog knowing he was handicapped and alone; the woman had her own loving thoughts about being with them and not alone, too. They had compassion for one another.

Lol!! That ending was not expected. Actually, I saw a lot of worry in those dog's eyes. But as you showed Harry's determination to love the dog, it had an impact on the woman working at the shelter. Hope you do well in the contest!!
