Hi Brett, I read your article with interest and I take on board your point of view. Of course, I have an opinion, but as I live in Europe I'm not sure I qualify for stating it. What I will say, though, is that I don't like all the violence used. Both from civilians and the police. Get rid of those arms, once and for all. Ulla:)))

A very well presented article, and It is certainly timely as we've been hearing so much about the increase in crime in some of our large cities. You have a great number of examples which make your presentation very compelling. To me, the police are professionals who need to be able to do their job without second guessing from the public. The police are the ones who have to make split-seconds decisions that could mean life or death. Sure, there are some bad ones, but that's no reason to get rid of them. People who want to defund have been quick to cry for police help when they land in trouble. Excellent article. judi

A very well presented article, and It is certainly timely as we've been hearing so much about the increase in crime in some of our large cities. Yes, the defund police movement has all but died. There are still people and governments working to eliminate their prison, bail and police force. I think that is a good thing. It gives others a chance to see what the outcome is from a safe distance. In the end, a free society should choose chaos or order.

I'm not sure I'm qualified to make a judgement, but without knowing all the facts, some things do cause me to have tenative feelings about the matter that could be subject to change.
I hate the fact that so many laws are inacted on the basis of political agendas. I don't feel that anyone, police are anyone else should be immune to proscution when someones civil rights has been violated. I don't agree with laws that make it illigal to video the police in action, but I don't I think it should be legal to harrass them. I agree that police reform is needed, in that some of tactics used have resulted in death. I believe all police officer and police vehicles should have cams recording arrests and they should be available to the public if there is a question.
I believe in peaceful protests, but I also believe any violence or destrudtion of prorperty should be punishable by law. I don't believe in defunding the police are cutting down on their number, but if one is found to be consistantly using excessive force, he should lose his job and not be hired by anyone police force.
This may not be what you are looking for in a review. It is just my present opinion. I thought you did a good job of presenting the facts in your Jaw Jack and left it up to the reader for form their own opinions.

I don't want to see anyone mistreated or killed, but on the other hand, if we keep taking away officer's abilities to protect themselves and those around them, it won't be long before they all quit. I know there are good and bad in every field, but there isn't enough money to make me be a cop right now. Just like in the George Floyd story. Where it took four cops weighing from 140 to 165lbs. to subdue a 6'4'', 230 pound doped-up counterfeiter. A knee to the neck for 9 minutes may be deemed excessive, but keeping time was the last of their worries, keeping him from getting up and doing hard knows what was their intentions. The cop was definitely guilty of negligent homicide or something along those lines, but murder . . . for doing his job. Even if he made a stupid choice that results in death? Was George Floyd not at least partially responsible for his own demise? If he hadn't been stoned, passed fake bills, and resisted arrest, would anyone, cops included, even payed him any mind? Okay, I'll shut up. But as you can tell, this is a touchy subject with me. And the Bryonna Taylor case, where the family got 12 million dollars. Bryonna's uncle is one of my best friends and even he knows another side of this story that's never come to light in the news. Just saying . . . .

Most bills in Texas that were pro-police passed. I, am pro-police. Go figure. LOL Anyway, thank you for being brave enough to write about this. It's hot issue in the US right now.
