Hi Jaybird,
I especially liked your ending lines filled with gratitude...both for the good and bad.
I think we all know our life is ebbing away...at least our life on earth.
As far as your question in your notes...You are looking for a sound mind? Good Luck! Lol
Fine job here. Very positive. If God did not say it to you, I will..."You'll be okay."

A poignant poem. Thoughts such as this are never far from our mind as we reach what are euphemistically called 'the twilight years'. Life is such a precious thing.

It's really only faith that pleases God, but the name of Jesus engenders hope not supplanting it with what lies here, it's a thought to apprehend tomorrow where ther are no more tears, no more pain. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

There are people at my Baptist church who often say they want the Lord to come back RIGHT THEN. I question whether they truly mean that. God put into us a natural desire to live--which you have described in your poem so movingly.

Take each day as it comes, and think about enjoying yourself, we never know when our number is called and hope we can squeeze one more day out of life, I loved the sentiments here, love Dolly x

You make a valid point. I enjoyed reading and reviewing your well thought out poem. There's good flow, good rhymes, and a great message for all. I agree with you. Life is worth living even though there are tough times.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Well crafted and written. Good rhyming and rhythm schemes.
World conditions are robbing many of their joy and a hope for the future. When one gives up the will to live it is the end. I invite you to browse www.jw.org to find comfort, hope and all the answers to life's burning questions. It is free and no obligation is imposed. You will be very pleased with what you find there. Kindest regards

I wonder. I just posted A poem called" I'll Fly Away" and I tell about how I feel about leaving this life but even then I want to remain here with my children. LOL You might like my poem, Bill. Have a nice day. Nancy:)

No.I don't think anyone actually welcomes death - except perhaps those who are in agonizing pain. It is normal to want to journey tht extra mile - to find new joys and make more memories. One day at a time - one step at a time.

This lamentation, Ebbing Away, is a poignant poem which captures all of the feelings you have for now living through a time that you may be passing through just once.
