You continue to develpo the characters and their relationships--their interactions ring true--the dialog flows well--I look forward to their solving the "Frost" problem!

Poor Gabriel ends another parting from Kathrine with a conversation with his dog. lol And Sandy and Rhonda are two nosey little girls. I do like that Katherine is such a mommy-bear; she not only looks out for her kids but makes sure Rhonda is picked up by her parents. Nice chapter. Now bring on the race!

Oh, Barbara, everyone is beginning to notice the obvious attraction between Gabriel and Katherine... which is not all bad! Maybe it will move things along faster except for your Mr. Frost... can he really be that much of a stickler against relationships or is there something else? I mean in a school I am sure there would be other relationships going on as well.

Rhonda's dad was pretty cool...does he know all the facts?

EAger for the competition to begin...of course, the girls will win...it's a given. LOL

Smiles, Carol

Thank you for the kind review. Yes, her dad knows all the facts. Katherine brought him and his wife in and exposed the bruises.

Hmmm...doesn't sound like this dad is an innocent person either. Made my skin crawl when I thought of it.

oohhh. That last little line had me WEAK!!!! (Translation: laughing) Man, I wish Frost was out of the picture already. And when are they going to do the contest?!?!?!?! The anticipation is KILLING ME. Katherine's definitely falling for Gabriel. No typos spotted. Well, until the next chapter!!!

Now the kids are starting to notice that Katherine and Gabriel seem to be spending a lot of tome together, so the vibes are becoming obvious to them. He says "if I asked you out, would you come?" Umm, maybe, blessings Roy

This was an interesting chapter. Good to see things on the move. You have a great way of moving things along ever so gently. Well done and no spags this time around.

Hi Barbara,

I love your Texas Football book. While I realize this book is about more issues than football, such as relationships and personal struggles, I am a Texan, and we do love our Saturday Night Lights.

Your characters are well defined, your summary at the beginning and character notes at end, helpful, and the reading is interesting.

Great job,
Rhonda

When I saw the words football I nearly skipped this. Then I saw your name...your writing is always entertaining and extremely competent and engaging. This was no exception. Now I am back on the site I can read your work again. It is brilliant, and I have missed it. Lov3e and regards Meia xx

Thank you for dropping by. I can guarantee this is NOT about football, but the hero is a coach, so there's hints of it.

Flawless construction. You do a good job with your characters staying in form and I have to admit your editing is professional level. Impressive.

notes (nothing wrong, just wondering):

Mr. Morgan thanked Katherine for being concerned and he and Rhonda left.
- I think a lot of readers would go: "What?" at this. What father wouldn't march down and confront Kenny?

"I think we need to solve our Frost problem before anything can happen."
- I may mentioned this before, but there is no Frost problem that's been properly explained or shown to the readers.

At the very beginning, Frost made accusations about Katherine's morality. There is a morality clause in her contract and all the teachers there. We'll find out later what else is driving this. In about, two more post and the it hits the fan in about four posts. I'll see how my male readers respond to Mr. Morgan. I have one, besides you, who keeps me honest. Thank you for bringing it up.

This is well done, Barbara. You've touched on all the different scenarios that are going on in the lives of Katherine and Gabriel, with a hint of more to come. The fact that the girls are noticing things between them is a good idea.
