Bob,

Oh, my stars! I am arriving late. I happen to do that a lot around here because I have stupidly and foolishly fanned far too many people. --sigh-- But never fear I am following this story. This story that I pretty much demanded and still demand you FINISH. I am still CHALLENGING you to that. It's actually a double-dog dare, really. So, there.

But - my, darling. THIS is why!!!!! I loved, loved, loved this chapter. It is the pinnacle of why I adore your writing. From the second line - 'He had the look of someone who was so ahead of the trending curve he was virtually behind it again' I was smiling.

The verbal barrage and sparring had me giggling and even guffawing. Out loud. I'm so glad no one is here. They would have finally, once and for all, sent me on away. ha

I loved it. And now, I am on to the next. Be forewarned - from now on I shall not give every chapter a six regardless if they all deserve it. I will have to save a few. Onward!

I am genuinely flattered that you're a fan, and I always look forward to your reviews, but I look forward to your considered criticism more.

Stirring up my imagined sense of justice and dignity! Lol! That's what it is about your writing. You stir emotions very well.

From the 'Background. "Bob RUNDS a pub there...." Typo.

"Talking of bad for business," muttered DAPHNE." Do you have Dawn and Daphne?

I never know at what point I should put the stuff from the box in the review. That's what happens when that stuff never becomes a second language. Yes, your story is starting to prod my sense of justice. What the hell! You can't treat people like that! Even if they are invented and hardly human... Good writing.

Oops. Don't know where Daphne came from. I always had a thing for Velma. Sorry for prodding you without asking first.

    Thanks for sticking with it

This is a good chapter, with great descriptions and very effective dialogue, as usual. :-) Well done. The ending is good, as it leads unanswered questions that the reader will want to find out in the following chapters. Have a great weekend and thank you for sharing.

Your caricatures of the bully boys from the Ministry are chillingly real and I love the way in which Bob handles them - a delicate balancing act, stalling them until the cavalry arrives. The scotch egg was a nice touch of humour. You widen the scope with 'that had always been the way, whether it was kosher, halal or Fae you were after'. Discrimination applies to all minority groups in a police state.

Sadly, not just a police state. That area of London has always been a ghetto, just the ethnicity changes.

Thanks for your review, and I'm chuffed you found no spag
