Love this!! You are very good at childrens' poetry! I remember reciting a word song with that rhythm and meter. but can't remember - something about the spider that ate the fly...oh why did that spider eat the fly? Very entertaining even to very old children!

I super enjoy this piece, it is whimsical and very well done - but the one thing throwing me off is splash splish - perhaps this is my North American culture but I can't help but want to say splish splash. Otherwise I very much enjoyed this. Great work and thanks for sharing. Later daze.

Thank you! I understand the phrase "splash Splish "throwing you off, as it threw me off at first too. But it had to rhyme with "fish. "I got used to it. :-) Thank you so much for your kind review and encouraging comments. Hugs.

Maybe you could flip it back traditional if your fish was in a flash, or had some panache, or a great big moustache, or a top hat like Slash :P

This cumulative tale, Jake by the Lake, is a fun progression, or digression, from one end to the other of this Jake kissing a girl by the lake. I enjoyed it.

I love this! This is extraordinary in its effectiveness in keeping a child's interest and attention or a rainy day when the children must stay inside and listen to wonderful poetry like this! I am blown away at the super rhymes, six in a row that rhyme with dell! I read it each time, as it added another lovely line, and enjoyed it immensely! Thank you for sharing this treat!
Have a great week!

A clever entry ... I was wondering how exactly that Cumulative Tale worked in practice. I see this as a book for little children with beautiful illustrations. Well written.

This is only one type of cumulative story. There are other styles as well, but this one is my favorite. Thank you for your review and comments. They are appreciated.

This creative approach to the prompt to write a cumulative tale is outstanding. Not only is this a work cumulative is also has a very clever rhyme scheme and a consistent meter that can be read with slow beats or sped up. I can see children enjoying this story poem very much and speeding up the stanzas as they progress along. They would probably breakout into a giggling frenzy. I know I would. This is exceptional work. It is brilliant

You are welcome. I really do think it should be used in schools as it teaches several different things. The kids would love it. I hope you publish it and have really colorful artwork.

Thanks! This is just one example of a cumulative story. There are many different ways to write one. I appreciate your comments. :-) Hugs and blessings.
