This is a wonderful consciousness raising directive. At first when I looked at the "picture" and saw it was all black, I thought, 'Oh it didn't come out. I wonder if she knows' then I thought, it would be cool to imagine something for the picture. And that was what you want the reader to do. Very clever.

I find these precious gems and berate myself for not holding on to some six star treasures to offer back. How stunning a verse! Of course (of course!) I thought to myself "Hmm, the photo did not download..."
How clever of you to show us your world... to broaden our perception of "seeing" beyond these eyes we take for granted...
I did as you suggested. I stepped away from this laptop and sat outside for a few moments, eyes closed...
I heard the birds sing, the woosh of their wings as they took flight. I felt the brush of breeze blowing through grass upon which I'd rested my bare feet...
My other senses came alive in ways I'd never appreciated! A child's laughter from somewhere down the street brought her smile to my heart. I could see joy.
Accolades are not enough, Leann-- Perhaps a heartfelt thank you can help you see my appreciation?

MY son was born with limited hearing in one ear...then he went totally deaf after his first born child was born. I was devastated, of course... Some time later a cochlear implant restored some minimal hearing...he told me then, his other senses picked up where his hearing left off... So after reading your very moving piece I truly wanted to experience this! In college I had a very close blind friend who (I swear!) could tell me what color I was wearing by touching it... Never did comprehend it... Now I realize I don't have to understand it...just embrace the miracle!---Karenina
