Barbara,

Man, I hate that we have to talk about the bad stuff in life. But you're absolutely right. And through this novel, you may just inspire some mom to go talk to her kid and you may stop something bad. That is very cool, my friend. VERY cool.

Notes:
1.) Rhonda questioned, "Why (are) we in (C)oach's office?

2.) "That's the problem with abuse(. I)t's (often) learned behavior and flows from generation to generation."

Great job.

Barbara, you've added another little twist to this chapter, presenting a new challenge for Katherine, and Gabriel is always there for her. She still seems unsure of him though, or maybe her own feelings. Good work. Looking forward to the next one.

"But' what, Katherine?????!??!?!?!?!? Just accept him! He is a great guy, AND HE IS PERFECT FOR YOU! I'm getting frustrated LOL watching how this is playing out. But I know Katherine is going to give in... soon. But, YOU CAN"T LEAVE ME HANGING LIKE THAT! I have to know what happens next.
And what happened with Rhonda... that's just terrible! I've never experienced that because of how my parents are raising me, which I'm very glad about. I didn't see any typos, so you're good. Can't wait til the next chapter!

Rhonda's story was interesting. Naturally, you'd think of the parents first as being the abusers, but in this case it was the boyfriend. It sounds like Gabriel will take care him. I wondered if he shouldn't have been referred to the authorities. The abuse was criminal. Wouldn't it be the guidance counselor's place to handle the situation? This is another instance where Katherine has to act above and beyond. This is just another example of how she's becoming spread too thing. I don't know about Gabriel stepping in and organizing things. The boys are showing they can be responsible. Great chapter. judi

I know I'm coming into this book really late, but I do like what I've read. It seems a very interesting story with today's themes. First, I like the unique way Gabriel is going to help Kenny by teaching him the principles of an athlete. This is a lot better than having the kid tossed in jail especially after learning this behavior from his upbringing. There two things: Mr. Morgan says to his wife, "Don't tell me to calm down when this scumbag's been abusing [my] daughter" Should it be [our] daughter? Also, Gabriel tells Jeremy to take a bath and later his mom would [read his story] should that be [read him a story?] Just wondering.

You're correct about the our. I only had boys and as I watch them raise their daughters, when in anger it would be my daughter because of the protective Dad in them. The second one, I will think about. Gabriel isn't an English major, he's a jock. LOL Thank you for dropping by.

Hello Barb
Your writing is excellent. The part where Mr. Morgan sat, Katherine continued, "Sir, I'm not accusing you of abusing your daughter. All I'm doing is stating a fact that Rhonda's covered with bruises. As a parent myself, I'd want to know. I'm sure you'd like to know what caused them."

Also me I want to know who was cruel to Rhonda and why who ever caused the bruises on Rhonda's legs and arms.

The remark, "He's a great guy, but..." says a lot doesn't it? That momentary hesitation means she's unlikely to make that leap into happiness, were she gets a caring partner, and a great role model for her sons. Beautifully written Barbara, good job, blessings Roy
Typo : Why (are) we in coach's office? 2: Why (do) you want her to do that?
3 : (N)either has her mom.4: Watched the Morgan(')s leave. 5: Jeremy(,) take your bath.

"But" nothing. She knows her heart is melting faster than a snow ball in Miami in mid July. A blind man could clearly see that these two are headed for a serious committed relationship. It could not happen to a better suited couple anywhere as far as I can see. I love this story.
