Hi, Carol,
I read this chapter, though I'm having a hard time keeping up with reviewing.
"Let's go." Bert scowled,(.) "Food will have to wait." Hank rubbed his Ric
patted her shoulder,(.) "Appreciate the help. We'll make it quick."
(action tags need periods)
"I wouldn't do this for everyone, you know." she(Typo (She) rapped her knuckles against Ric's bicep.
Ric pulled out one of the chairs,(.) "Beth, sit down. We only have a few minutes."
toward Ric,(.) "Did your guys get anything out of her."
Surprise leaped from Ethan's eyes.
(I paused on this image...)
Good tension still, enjoyed reading.

(Bert pushed through the crowded deli to get back to Hank.) I think this is very telling. Maybe, (Out of the corner of hid eye Hank saw Bert fight her way through a crowd of customers and exit the deli.)
Again, very telling. Thank you for sharing and stay safe.

made the change. Once again I preferred your suggestion. I think I get so involved and wanting to write fast that I forget to go back and polish.. something I definitely will want to do if I am going to publish. Smiles, Carol

OMG! What a great chapter this was. It looks hopeful for Beth, but Bert and Hank have got to get a move on. I don't want to see Beth go to prison because of her father and his floozy. He deserved to die, but the wrong person has been accused. I'm off to read the next part now! :))Sandra xxx

It looks like a dunk in the basket but I'm not positive about that...I've got all kinds of things rolling around in my brain. LOL including loose marbles. Smiles, Carol

And the saga continues. This was another great episode. Things are ever so slowly falling into place. Pre-pandemic, I was in a book club that read one book per month and got together to analyze it. I miss that group, but On the Edge of Deception gives me that same book club gratification. Best of all, I get to communicate directly with the author. Awsome!

Another good episode in the murder mystery and the characters are starting to get closer to finding out the truth, and hopefully, things will fall into place as they could. Let's hope!

Well, we (the readers) know Ethan is right and is the best, most loyal friend ever! Thanks for that touching scene.
I wonder why Amanda wasn't there to talk with Hank and Bert? I hope Hank gets to find Amanda. It's starting to look like there will be a wrap-up soon.
I was confused: Who said the following?
"Hank, Bert! The guard's husband is a friend of mine. She's going to put us in a private room."

This is another great installment. It moved your story along nicely. I am glad Ty is waking up. The picture of course matches the story. There is no room for improvement. I look forward to the next installment.

Yowzers! You are revving up the gas and ready to go fast and furious headlong into tying up the plotlines! I'm a happy camper, seeing Beth take some control to affirm her innocence... AND Try is awake! Soon he'll be telling his story! Oh boy! I've got yo get some popcorn...this is getting really tense now!--Karenina

Ty's a tough one... No exactly sure how he gets out of this...He's innocent, but the evidence is all there in the accident. Beth's doing some growing up.. in a difficult time for her. Popcorn? Extra butter, please. Smiles, Carol
-
Well, of COURSE! What's the point of pop cord without a ton of butter?! (MY one great addiction!)--- I know...I am trying to follow your train of thought regarding how Ty gets out of this... Alas, I have hit writer's block FOR you! (LOL)---Karenina

I read these last two bass-ackwards--sorry Carol--I've been trying to catch up. Gripping chapter--now I'm anxious to see what happens with Ty. Keep it coming!

You sound like me... I always worry about people mixing the chapters when I post two at one time... Thanks for reading and reviewing. Have a great day. Smiles, Carol

With the possibility of Amanda's testimony regarding what she has heard and observed, Beth has hope. Now if only Hank or the detective can see to it that she cooperates, Beth has hope.
