Wow, what an excruciating story for the Thanksgiving dinner the proud of any American. That's why I prefer the turkey to be ... just breast with all the stuffing inside and takes roughly thirty minutes to get ready. Voila, dinner is served.

What a save that was at least for your friend and her husband. who would've thunk that--wall paper paste instead of flour? You did a great job, Liz, recounting this event that is funny now but not at the time I'm sure. Thanks for sharing.

That was one of the funniest stories you've written, once I got past the tangle of in-laws in the first paragraph. Pasting the bird would have made for a juicy dinner, albeit not a well-browned turkey. I say hurrah for her making the attempt and good-riddance to the snooty mother-in-law.

This was hilarious!! I am just hoping that the "flour" is okay for human consumption. And I don't understand "snooty" in-laws. What don't they get about welcoming a new member into the family. Sheesh! They should have at least stayed to have time together!
