That must have been a beautiful concert. Often in the early morning, I sit out on the porch in spring and summer. First I hear one bird screeching the same sound over and over. Then one by one it seems others chime in and you're right, it is like a concert going on. God bless!

Yes! You describe exactly what I experienced that morning. Just one Bird at first. Then? BAM! And it sounded like they were speaking. It was pretty awesome. Thank you for your review and comments.

This is a uplifting tribute to all of nature who praises the Lord. Jesus said even the rocks and stones sing my praise. What an honor to be a glorious part of nature. Hopefully this will draw the reader closer to nature to hear her praise and join in as you did. What an honor.

Hello Leann.
This is a very well written poem. You maintain meter and rhyme so very well but the part I like best is your description of the bird songs. To me, this is an example of onomatopoeia and it is done so very well especially in your last stanza as you clarify the singing birds "words."
This is exceptionally well written in my view. It is original and it is very imaginative.

Oh, Leann DS, Birdsong of Praise is such a lovely poem. I would have missed it had I not rec'd your very generous review, this morning and wanted to read something by you. Just so you know, I'm a baptized Christian, but have fallen away over the years, and am not easily inspired in the way I was just now - just swept away by the most joyous feelings that will last at least the rest of this day and beyond.
Just as an aside, I went birding yesterday in West Marin County (California). My brother-in-law identified more than 25 birds without seeing them. I cannot bird by ear that well, but I totally relate to what your poetic narrator experienced. Just marvelous. Thank you!
I have only five stars left to give. Wish I had ten.

Thank you, Webb, for this encouraging review. It made me feel thankful that my words affected you in some way. I was a baptized Catholic, and practiced off and on until my oldest daughter, now 31 years old, was 14. She took a stand against mom and refused to be confirmed in the Catholic Church because she did not believe their teachings. She consequently, is a Christian, but not a Catholic. She made me really look at the Christian teachings, and I also left the Catholic Church. with that said, I do not attend any church building or services, but I am a Christian. I am also totally blind, the result of a genetic disease that took my vision eight years ago. The sounds and smells surrounding me have become a very important part of my life, as you may imagine. I say this because so often, poets on this site right about the things they see. I can't, except by using my memory and imagination. I'm trying to focus more on reality in my own life.
Too much information? LOL OK, sorry about that. I just wanted to explain the inspiration for my poem a bit. Thank you again, so much for your kind words. Hugs and blessings to you.

Thank you, Wendy. Because of my blindness, I have recently begun to make a concerted effort to use my other senses to notice the gifts from God. Thank you for your kind review. Hugs and blessings.

Oh, I didn?t know you were blind. But what a beautiful and positive attitude!

Very creative way of writing an interesting story with 'bird words' if I may call. It definitely feels lovely to hear birds sing first thing in the morning instead of disgusting morning news!. The birds sing because they have songs in their hearts. Thank you for sharing the lovely poem.

Brilliant. No wonder you ended up delighting in the chorus. Next you'll be seeing an image of Jesus in the jagged edges of a jigsaw puzzle. We love our neighborhood whipporwill (aptly named, likely misspelled).

Ha ha thank you very much. And you spelled whippoorwill almost correctly. :-) but I cheated... I use dictation.
Thanks again. Hugs.

Yeah? Me either. If dictation spelled it wrong, then I did.

The author's words are interesting, clear, descriptive and creative. I pondered on the theme of these words. As I continued to read, I found
great meaning in this well written poem. The artwork is awesome and
compliments these words.

Isn't that a wonderful thing Leann? I've called the birds of the air, the heralds of God, alerting us to those mercies that come every morning to those who are listening. This is beautifully written with a really worthwhile theme reminding of God's caring heart. Such a good poem in abcb rhyming, well done, blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. I was just trying to think of a topic for a haiku today, and I was remembering how the hawks and eagles soar so gracefully. Maybe? Maybe I'll write about them. Not sure. Anyway, thank you again for your comments and review. Much appreciated. Hugs.
