Powerful tribute--your love and loss are made manifest in this heartfelt memorial--this would have made for a fine eulogy--did you read it at the funeral. Sugg: flesh out the picture by saying how many children there were--i.e. your siblings.

What a beautiful tribute to your mother, very well written. So glad that you had this great example to follow. That scripture in Proverbs 31 certainly describes the love of a mother for her family. I like verse 28, "her children arise up, and call her blessed." Thank you for doing this for your mom.

You are very welcome, Portia, and I appreciate your reply. It was over 20 years ago my parents passed away; they were only in their 70's but their health wasn't good. We are doing fine, and hope you are, too.

I am so glad you shared about your beautiful mom, who was such a faithful woman of God! I remember when she passed into Heaven because that year I got to meet you here on Fanstory. I remember your poems back then as you were processing your grief. Thank you for sharing about your amazing mom!!

She married her first and only love; how wonderful! Sixty-four years of marriage, and about fifteen years of childbearing; you didn't mention how many children she had, but it sounds like she had several.
My Grandma, my mother's mother, was the same type of mom. When my younger brother had surgery as a child, and she couldn't get permission to visit him in his hospital room, she actually sneaked in, via the MORGUE, to get to her little grandson! Fiercely devoted!
Yes, my mother has been with me for every surgery I've ever had, too (and fortunately, there haven't been THAT many).
You have written such a beautiful account of your beloved mother and her undying love. Praise the Lord!
