Hi Mary. This was truly humorous. I've experienced similar situations in parking garages, more than once. The difference is...I was at the correct garage. I enjoyed your descriptions, especially when your husband suggested looking on the roof. Thanks for sharing and letting us know You've made the same mistakes many of us have.

I sweated along with you while reading your story. I knew exactly how you felt when you burst into tears.
You really nailed the atmosphere and your emotions.
Is your husband always so patient? Can I borrow him the next time I misplace my car? LOL
Tiny typos:
"...walked up to the fourth. then the fifth,..." - comma, not period, after 'fourth'
"...we did not go to the roof" - comma after 'to'
"What did he think I was stupid?" - comma after 'was'
"...down the street where our car was on the third floor waiting..." - commas after 'street' and 'floor'

Okay, this was funny and tense and sad all at once. I've done similar things, but I don't think I can make the story flow on paper (or computer screen) as well as you. This is a terrific story with a happy, if dehydrated ending. Good work.

Oh Mary, this is so funny now, but I'm sure it wasn't at the time! I hope you both laughed about it. This is very well written, keeping us in suspense to the very end. I thought it was hiding between two large vehicles. We had a low riding convertible in Arizona and it was always hiding on us. lol

This is a Beauty! I've been caught not absolutely knowing which level we've left our car, but eventually actually working out that we were very silly, and found, one day somebody actually guided us to our car, after describing it. But I've never heard of this one before Mary, that's extraordinary, well, done, great story, blessings Roy
