Thanks for pointing this out, Liz. I'll have to check them out. I might learn to be a better reviewer. I had a surprising number of nominations, but except for catching spags, I know most of the time my reviews aren't that helpful. For that reason, some of the nominations were a real surprise.

Turtle has been back-and-forth from 2007--I'm glad to learn she got recognition back when--hopefully, she'll accrue more.

Turtle, though, is an old hand at this stuff. *smile*. She comes and goes, unfortunately. She has a great deal of talent but she will tell you her sticktoittiveness needs work. And often, when she does return, it is with a new project. I am not sure how many she finishes. (Btw, in case she reads this- turtle ~ this is one reviewer still ready to buy a book. Knuckle down, my sister. I want an ending to the one you worked on for so long!!)
Anyway- she is one of a VERY small handful in the elite group of 'Recognized Reviewers'. If you scroll down on the front page you will find the whole whopping list from the 20 FS years in business.
Go visit any of their profiles or pay special attention when they drop by, to see that their collection of review stars are YELLOW.

I've never heard of Marigo J. Stathis (but I'm going to check her out). But about Turtle. She has been around for years, is a gifted writer in her own rights especially with otherworldly fantasy. Okay, yes, I took a look at her reviews and they are stunning ... if not a bit narrow in scope, only tackling poetry. I fanned her nonetheless. Everything she had written on FS she has pulled.

I'm extra impressed when someone can tackle poetry.

Because they showed at the bottom of her right hand column: two poems, Tryst and Invasion, one "recognized" and one "ATB". If you click on either you get the message that it has been removed. No judgement intended at all. I was just disappointed because all her accomplishments indicated to me that she would be a spledid poet.
