I agree that America needs to get its act together. I don't think the actions of our leaders are helping unite the country. Now that people are getting vaccinated and fewer new cases of the virus are being reported, maybe we can start getting back to normal. There's been a lot of throwing blame around, too and failure to accept responsibility for what they've done. The schools and churches have suffered during the virus, that's true. I also agree with your thoughts on the border situation and Congress not doing its job. Excellent use of rhyme. Great presentation. judi

It's not only your country, Jay, it's mine as well. (UK) I don't know what is happening in the world today. When I think of how many years you have lived here on Earth, how many changes you've seen, you have every right to state your opinion of how it is now. You've seen more than most, lived through more than most. I wonder how you feel when you think of the many friends of yours you lost trying to make this world a better place to live in. These are the problems with all the so-called democracies in the world. They screw up and commit errors after errors. And when they are not able to erase it, they convert them into law. We vote them to power for better governance. And look what we get! Disgusting. I enjoyed your politically charged poem. Thanks for sharing!

i see a trend today.Politcally charged sonnets. in the traditional format but very timely in theme and execution. I like the last stanzas the best

Our country is in severe trouble! Somehow someone needs to stop Biden and his posse before we are totally screwed. He stopped the wall then invited every tom, dick, and harry to come and we will take care of you! Now they are going to give these immigrants huge stimulus checks! I think one of the worst things that has happened is the riots and the war on police. I God can help us.
