I'm a believer, Mystery Author. You took me on the last train to clarksville with you and your well thought out poem. I agree with your thoughts and feelings about music. The author's words are uplifting, bring back memories and are
creative. This poem made me think of the Beatles and many of
the groups in the 60's! The poem flows and connects well. The
artwork goes well with these words.

I love your poem! My parents grew up in the 60s, so I am a huge fan of 60s music. There has been many a time when my mom would tell me to get to my homework instead of screwing around. I'd love to sing back, "Hey, hey we're The Monkees, and we're all just monkeyin' around!" Thanks for the great memories!

Oh, my, these were my teenage years! I loved the Beatles, the Monkees and Elvis! Great music back then. Music you could dance to. I'd give you six stars but I don't have any more.

Really great rhyme for the contest.
Each stanza was packed full of entertaining information, facts and personal thoughts.
Perfect title so younger readers can connect, not being familiar with this time period.

Hey! Hey! We're the Monkees and people say we monkey around. But we're too busy singing to put anybody down!!!! Monkee double-breasted clothes. Monkee shoes! I don't think I need to explain what I like about your poem. I think the Beatles were okay but they were just a tad before us and the Monkee scene. You did wonderful on this poem and I wish I had more than six stars to give you! Good luck with the contest!

Well that was a fine trip down memory lane. The Monkees were quite the stars back in the day, and really did some good and lasting music in my opinion. These times we are living through right now remind me a lot of the turbulent 60s.
