Nicely done. I liked your uneducated Western cowboy dialect. It made the story sound like it would if being told by someone on riding the trails in the old west. I'm glad ol' Hank didn't get away with taking Storm.

This is different. The cowboys from the trail herd usually get the honor of being ran out of town. It's refreshing to see them win one for a change. LOL Well done, Bret. I am a western fan you know. Nancy:)

This is a rootin' tootin' good old fashioned cowboy tale with a young whipper snapper like Tommy, old nasty bad guy like Hank, and the guy you don't mess with like our narrator.

Good old story and so glad I had a SIX for it! Are ya gonna do more with this? Plenty of blood and guts hehe. Well done and no spags anywhere as far as I could tell.

I don't usually have any sixes so late in the week, but I somehow managed to keep this one in hopes of tagging something special. They say that westerns don't sale anymore in bookstores or at the box office. But I'm still a fan of all those Maverick, John Wayne, and Clint Eastwood moments. Thanks for sharing.

I'm pretty sure O'Hank doesn't want to mess you anymore. I sure wouldn't. I enjoyed reading your short story. I am always amazed at how people can tell a complete story in such a few words. It's takes me over 80,000 to tell anything. My boys say, "Mom, give us the short version." I thought I was. LOL

I thought this was an enjoyable piece about an experienced cowhand standing up in defense of a younger hand. The language added additional authenticity to the piece although to admit
'seed' took a little getting to use to. (Maybe it should be "see'd"?). I'd be interested in reading additional pieces that develop these characters further.

Good ol' western story. Only thing is, when you left the store you were going to send the wagon for them, then at the end you said you picked them up. Am I missing something?

Nice western story, although I cringed at teeth being injured, with a fun use of old western dialect. I think that really added to the overall feel of the peice.

Thank you for sharing this. Hugs and blessings to you. And a good dentist to Harry. (Cringe)
