I have to admit that I was unaware of these popular folk musicians. Dylan, Joan Baez and Bruce Springsteen were very popular. I have their records with me. After listening to the video, I recall having listed to the '500 miles' song many times in the past. Didn't know the singers. Love it. Thank you for the interesting share. Good choice of the theme. Cheers!

As you have said, Peter, Paul, and Mary were a great trio and "500 Miles" still evokes so many memories of whenI first left home. I saw this group perform live in Chicago and I never tire of listening to their hits. Rod

This reflection on your favorite music, and this on3 especially, Peter, Paul, and Mary, takes me back to those middle days between listening to Peter Rabbit on my kid phonograph, and Puff the Magic Dragon. Neat.

Touching tribute--Surprised they aren't honored in Hall of Fame--is there a special category for folk music? Thanks for the link--I recently watched a documentary on PP&M--also a brilliant comedy skit on Jack Benny!

Glad to see these three included in your Playlist! Brings back so many memories. Their voices are so clear, the harmonies are beautiful, and the lyrics so clearly articulated. Well done, and thank you for sharing.

Comment from Robert Zimmerman
Hello Sal.
I know these folks very well. 500 miles is one of their better songs. They did some Dylan songs as well. It seems in those days everybody did some Dylan songs. Did you know Dylan's birth name is Robert Zimmerman?

A great choice for Jukebox Hit #48. 500 miles- a memorable song, from a highly successful and relevant group who sang many songs filled with meaningful messages of the time. Your piece is informative and pays tribute to this inspirational group. Well done.

Your alliteration will draw the reader in. You also are using strong metaphors. I absolutely agree with this: "They will never be out of style for me, or wear out their welcome. I love them as much as ever." This one of the songs that deserves to be played on 'repeat'.
Well written.
