A most interesting story of Jesus turning the water into wine at the wedding feast. I like the way you have provided such intimate detail of those attending the wedding as well as that of yourself, being James. Very unique!

Isn't it sad that God compelled the disciples to follow Jesus despite the Oddity of not quite knowing who He was? But even when He told Philip, "have I been with you so long, that you cannot see the Father, the Father and I are one, if you've seen me, you've seen the Father." Poor disciples, until Pentecost they did not have a full understand! Beautifully written my friend. Loved this. Blessings Roy

Dear Mystery Writer,

This was an interesting personal take into the story of Jesus at the Canaan wedding. I do have to imagine that the latter wine would be so much better than that at the beginning. *smile* Thanks!

Well written story about Jesus' first miracle - turning the water into wine at the wedding in Cana. You have added an interesting twist about the couple being married, as the Bible doesn't tell us anything about them.

A well written story from the viewpoint of James, one of the disciples. You have portrayed well his growing awareness of just who Jesus is. Best wishes for your entry.

Wow! Great story telling. The reader was pulled in and became part of the story, like another guest. He saw Jesus as his followers saw him. Human and yet different.

You're welcome. You must be a Christian as I don't think a non-believer could have told the story so well. For that, I thank you.

This is a really funny parody of this bible story. I'm not sure if this what was expected in the contest, but I like it. Your closing paragraph is hilarious. Good luck in the contest.

You did a good job with your story contest entry, Mystery Author. I enjoyed reading it. Your lines flow smoothly at a good place. The use of descriptive words for the setting, the character descriptions, and the theme of learning about Jesus enables readers to feel as if they are right there among the guests at the wedding.

This story, Stone Jars, is a cool narrative from the first person point of view of Jesus' ministry through the eyes of James. Very easy for a seeker to grasp.

This is very good, putting a person from today - or at least modern times - in the story with Jesus. Original.
The only things that I would suggest is, what if right after Cana, at the end of the second paragraph, you said - What happened there changed my life forever. (a hook)
And when you all of a sudden say, "I abandoned my fishing boat...." you don't say why you followed him around. Maybe one sentence about how he said things that caused you to want to follow Him?
Just suggestions.
This is a good idea and the stark difference in the way they talk and think makes an interesting premise. good job.
