Your poem is very moving. Thank you for reminding me of this event. So many soldiers have been lost over eons due to screw-ups by the upper echelon. If I'm not mistaken, Mel Gibson starred in a movie about this event. I think it was the first time I had even heard of it. I am so glad it is remembered annually in Australia and New Zealand. So, so tragic.

Hello Susan, Yes, there was a movie with Mel Gibson. It showed how our boys were just cannon fodder for the Turks. Some did however, scale the cliff and a battle ensued. Blessings, Kay XX
