Wow, you have the beginnings of two stories interwoven into this contest entry, Mystery Author. I enjoyed reading and reviewing it. How sad that the dog was left alone, but under the circumstances, well there should have been more water for him. Your words flow smoothly with great imagery. Best wishes.
