Your poem is deeply spiritual and uplifting. As a "poem within a poem,"
it is skillfully and creatively composed. Yes, Jesus is the Light of the world and the believer's life--even, or especially, during times like these.

Comment from June Sargent
When we are at our wit's end - and most of us are at this point, with this pandemic - it is comforting to know that we can turn to God through our Savior Jesus Christ for strength. We may not be able to change things, but we can learn to cope if we know we have help from above. Meanwhile I will continue to wear my mask and refrain from hugging and kissing our grandsons...for a little longer.

I hear you, June. Even though I supposedly have 90 days of immunity, I still do not take chances. Jan

I like how you presented your poem of how make us stop and absorb what you are telling us readers made sit back of what you said. Especially ----
have I been left
alone to fight any
battles without my Jesus
let
others see you
as the way, truth, and life
Gert
so they, too, can be set free

This is beautifully composed and captures both the anxiety and the source of relief. I really like the Lexibridge form and know it must take some real thought, although it just seems to flow like water in a stream. Thanks for the reminder about to whom we should surrender our weaknesses.

A cry from the heart. Your sadness and loneliness and missing your loved ones is tangible. But Jesus will help you. His loneliness as He went to the cross without a single human being who understood was horrific - and God the father forsook Him while He shouldered our sin, and took it from us. So He understands, completely, what loneliness is. But He was victorious. May you have the peace and joy of the resurrection this Easter, and be uplifted. Sending hugs.

Thanks, Wendy. I cannot fathom what price Christ paid for my sins. I am okay. Jan

I agree with you the pandemic has made people depressed and lonely. I must admit that I am one of those...
I haven't hugged my grandchildren for over a year. I miss them. I feel like home-prison with no known date of going out of such a home.
Thanks for sharing this poem of dark ages for a lot of us.. God please save the world.

yes, Goodadvicechan, God please save the world! I suffer from two types of depression that are hard to keep at bay because the meds have to be just right to control it. Fortunately, it does not plague me like it used to. Jan

Hello Rdfrdmom2.
I appreciate your message of faith in this poem. The message expresses itself in each statement. Your style allows the reader to see each individual thought expressed away from the other words.

Unfamiliar with this poem and so pleasantly surprised at the message within the poem...
You express what so many are experiencing and despairing about.
Let us pray it's almost over... Let us maintain safety measures and not spike the ball on the twenty yard line...

karenina, yes, let's neither spike nor fumble the ball before we get to the "end" zone. This format is one I created years ago when my granddaughter was just an infant. It is something God blessed me with. Jan

A lovely form...and a profoundly important message!--Karenina

In these times of darkness and loneliness that we all share, even for those of us who only silently pray, there are many days when it seems to be the only option. Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem

Judy, I am a fan of the "pray without ceasing" philosophy which, in my opinion, means we keep ourselves in a spirit of talking to God at any time. Thanks for this kind review. jan
