Did you manage to get to the end without falling victim to your own lullaby? This was beautifully soporific and nearly had me nodding off before I had got to the end - not with boredom, you understand but because of the effectiveness of the atmosphere generated.

Haha, thanks Jim! As the poem says... its intentional... :). Yes, it made me sleepy too. LOL. I had one reader say she was going to refer to my sleepy poems to help her sleep.... made me chuckle. Thanks again!!

Beautifully rhyming poem. It evokes a peaceful feeling and it's so descriptive, I felt like I was there with this poet...and she was reading to me. Thank you for sharing. :)

Delightful lilting verse, Melissa. Indeed the words are carefully chosen for meaning, sound and rhyme. I love the construction of the poem, setting the scene, introducing the poet, invoking sweet music of poetry and then explaining how the muse works her magic.
Beautifully composed.
Stay safe healthy and blessed

Thank you Julia. I am especially delighted that you saw the progression of the verse. It is so short that sometimes those layers are missed. Thanks again!!

This is beautifully written. It has such a nice flow and rhyme scheme. Your chosen artwork is amazing. I wouldn't mind being there in that scene in the hammock ð???such an inviting scene. Well done.

This is beautiful, written with great word choices. I love the photo to go with it. If I had to choose, the second stanza would be my favorite. "Her words resemble violins" is a lovely phrase.

How absolutely beautiful! And your picture just brings your words to life, even though, if I closed my eyes and heard them spoken, I think I'd see that picture, anyway.
