Great poem, and a nice tribute to your mom. I'm glad you have good memories of her, despite her deserting your baseball team. lol. I'm glad she was able to have a special place all her own, but sorry your things had to go. Your mom sounds like a wonderful person. Best wishes in the contest.

It's a sad thing to face, but the fact is not every child grows up with a loving and present parent in their life. That seems a bit of a tragedy. It seems that if there's one thing a kid should be able to count on - out of all the craziness in this world - it's that. I'm glad you were blessed so sweetly. This is a lovely ode to your mom.
