Mr. Green, before I write I have to clear my eyes. There's a lot of dew this morning. So you're seventy years old, huh? So was I in November. I've seen all that hate in this world since I can remember. I don't know if what you wrote has truth in it or you're just a darn good writer. :) Anyway, this is a good story. Maybe it will open some eyes somewhere and they will understand that we are all the same. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Poetwatch, I grew up in the 50's and 60's. I sure wish this cycle of hate would stop. It is a poor example for our young generation to follow. If the world only knew it has never been the wealthy who built this nation, Anyway, I would bet we could have some interesting conversations over a cup of coffee. This is a wonderful, but sad story, Larry. A long look at racial hatred and bigotry. I saw one thing that needs correcting. United States should be capitalized. [He told me, about where my family come from, and how they come to these united states.] Well done. Nancy:)

good hearts they could not see differences because of the color of
one's skin. God only knows how many times this story could be told
with just a change in the names. It certainly speaks to one of the
worst blights in our country - blatant racism. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much, for your review. Sometimes when I watch what is going on in this country, I'm afraid that we are starting to implode as a nation, and I worry about what we will leave our children. That is why I wrote this, and 'The American Dream.' Mr. Green

The white slavery aspect was woven in exceptionally well, showing that although the writer and Jimmy were of different races, they were brothers in heritages. The writer's limited education makes spelling and grammar errors seem consistent and expected. Very well done and very thought-provoking.
