This is such a lovely poem.
A flower that may not be as beautiful, and isn't as graceful as the others, has a right to be and fights for it.
I am really touched by your work! (I'm sorry I can't give it 5 stars. Really. I used them all up).
Good luck in the contest.
Blessings,
Cindy

I love dandelions and don't even like to refer to them as weeds. Your lovely, descriptive poem conveys an uplifting message about the tenacity of the underdog. (check title, spelling)

Janet, this is lovely! I love the dandelion and wrote a long time ago about this magnificent plant and its mistaken identity as a 'weed.' Your poem's flow is "like butter," and the rhymes are super too! I love your author's notes that speak of Adewpearl as I remember her as well! Thank you for putting away the notion of this humble flower's fate as a 'weed.'

Yes, the dandelion is one of the most tenacious and prettiest weeds. If you are able to call weeds, pretty. I wish it wasn't so prolific.
I miss Brooke's poetry too.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Thank you for sharing this poem about the dandelion. I know everyone regards them as weeds and a nuisance, but I welcome there bright spot of colour first thing in the spring. Very well written.

Love this! When I was taking a walk, some fifteen years ago, with my first grandchild, newly toddling on wavering legs, she suddenly stopped in the field where we were meandering, eyes big as saucers...and bent (with some difficulty so as not to give way to gravity)--and plucked a dandelion.
I watched as she brought it up to her nose, as her pudgy little fingers felt the wonder-flower she beheld.
It was that day I thanked God for the beauty of Dandelions...
I saw the beauty through the eyes of a child and it was ever transformed from a weed to a wonder!

They are quite beautiful and I'm so thankful that you posted one with your lovely poem today. I thought that may be what this is about when I saw the name. Thank you for this offering, and a yellow one! I miss Brooke too, and so glad you reminded us of her, as well.
Sending along my best to you and yours,

I absolutely love the picture...
It matches the poem beautifully and the rhythming flows easily. I was that kid that liked to pick any kinda flower that looked pretty. Even the 'skunk' flowers. But the dandelion is such a beautiful flower. Well done.
