You always seem to know what I am trying to say, and I love your personal comments about how you try to make a little difference...it's all any of us can do! Hi Jesse, it is good to see you back, and then with such a fine poem. The pollution we are creating is beyond belief. We do have to change our ways. I think this pandemic is a strong reminder from mother nature.

Just unpacked suitcases, and here I am, and here you are!
What an exceptionally well-crafted poetic offering for which, sadly, I am out of six stars.
A very thought-provoking offering. In fact, my daughter and I were discussing the "misery and waste" produced by man's usage of plastics - so much damage that it is absolutely crippling the waterways and ingested by mammals and fowl as well. Incredibly disturbing.
As well as: "Consumers reach for endless happiness and love,
ageless beauty creams offer none of the above." So many gimmicks to make one look younger and live longer - supposedy. Not buying into any of it. Bring on old age! I'm ready for the adventure!

Aw, Jesse!
No! We didn't get to drive to Colorad as the blizzard was making its way to Michigan, and we would have been caught in its mess. So... we went to see our daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, and "face-timed" with the Colorado parents! Now we are planning on driving to Colorado right after Easter! Can't keep us away! :)

I guess I haven't kept up with the weather as much as I thought. What is this "face-timed" of which you speak? I am glad you will be going to your son's after Easter. I'm glad nothing will stop you!

Good Morning, Jesse!
We all have iPhones, and when we call one another, there is an apparatus that we push to connect with one another called "Facetime." It allows us to actually see and speak to one another via our telephones! Much like "Zoom," but it's on our phones. Makes the distance bearable.

I do not have a fancy cell phone so I did not know what it meant. It sounds nice to be able to sit and chat looking at each other on the phone. How great is that! A great effort which looks at time and the destructiveness of humankind.
It is so true that what is happening will annihilate so many species. During times past I much of the annihilation was due to natural disasters, however, presently, it is exarcebated by man.
I make a conscious to do some things to be less destructive (I know it not enough), but I had to start.
Very well done and it should give every reader a moment of thought.

Wow, you really nailed it! How Time is speeding up, and so is our destructiveness of the planet, and every species on our beloved earth. I also try to do what I can, but only if all of us make the effort will we possibly achieve a planet we can sustain!

I found this a very compelling poem that doesn't address just unfathomable time, but very existence itself. It introduces the question of whether man will commit suicide while seeking the fountain of youth. I particularly like the last line and the inference of an hourglass.

So, too, do our minds become littered with caustic, corrosive "litter."
The challenge you present is how do we manage to commit ourselves collectively to sweep away the scourge and live fully rather than merely "exist!"
