final war runs its course
across arid vacant land --
dead silence
A eerie silences reigns after a battle, once the wounded have breathed their last, and all tactical and strategic aspects are forgotten.

Bless you, Marival, and bless Dean. I loved your horror haiku. It did show the way into the abyss. Dean was indeed an expert on the horror writing and the two of you wrote some lovely poetry . Un abrazo de tu amiga, Ulla:)))

Thank you very much, Ulla. I appreciate your time and review. I got my first vaccine shot! I'm excited. All my family is getting it done this week. Well, except my son. I hope he will get it soon.

Gypsy, This is a very well written 6/7/3 Contemporary Horror Haiku. I am so thankful that I did not have a dream like that. You used very good descriptive words and great imagery from the art work to. love and blessings, Teri

Gypsy,
You did a fantastic job on your "horror haiku."
This line has strong imagery and I like the 'a'
alliteration in it:
"across arid vacant land"
Your satori...which included "dead" and "silence"
when coupled with "war" in your first line...well,
you've got a picture like the one you chose to
accompany this haiku.
Yeah, that's pretty much the vision of the future
that I see.
Very well done,
Anna

These words are sad, relieving, and creative. I found the last line of this poem thought provoking and caused me to think of the horror war
can cause. The artwork shows the disaster that war can cause and compliments the theme of this poem.

This is a poignant write and I wonder if this will eventually come true? Japan has already had a taste of it and the horrors of such devastation are still being felt today, a chilling write, love Dolly x

Gypsy Rose,
This is a haunting poem, void of life's power and color.
Your words neatly paint a picture of a war torn land in this excellent land.
Great poem, Gypsy Rose.
Good luck in the contest.

Looks like the apocolypse has come to town, love the images your poem gives of what the world might look like when man can no longer protect or help it, an excellent horror poem****kahpot

Very effective haiku Gypsy. The last line is absolutely perfect and the poem as a whole is eerily moving. It seems like a most believable description of the aftermath of the apocalypse so you chose exactly the right name too. Excellent work.

Others would call this a nightmare, however, a talented and creative writer saw an opportunity to put her words to pen in a beautiful yet frightening poem.
Well done.

Mary
