They always say that boys will be boys.....but buying a playboy magazine might not be such a great idea for a young boy in sports. Pin ups sometimes are very nude....great idea to keep life clean, even when you are in high school.

Every young man should read this chapter so he would understand that gawking at women in such situations as the Playboy magazine is not a good thing. When I was an AP and had to deal with something of that nature, I would always ask about their moms, sisters, female cousins, etc., and then tell them the girls in the magazine are all someone's daughter and may possibly have all those other roles. Loving your book.

In this chapter we see Gabriel stepping tentatively into a father's role here, with Katherine's son, and giving the kid this fatherly talk about respect for women. Before that we get this little scene between Katherine and her mom and we see her mom kind of nudging her into thinking about Gabriel as a romantic figure. So they are sort of moving in that direction. Nice realistic dialogue I like how you described the grins and facial expressions and Gabriel tossing those boxes nervously around. It brings some more emotion into these relationship scenes. estory

Great chapter and a wonderful, meaningful conversation between Joshua and Gabriel. The dialogue is very well done, and it demonstrates Gabriel' shame about his past.
One tiny suggestion is to remove one of the two references to body language. It stands out a bit when Katherine uses the phrase again, after Gabriel used it. Perhaps Joshua is blushing or looking down as he passes her and she simply says "What's up with him?"
It's a very small thing in a lovely story.

This chapter represents normal growing up issues for young boys, and also the mistakes that others have made in the past and regret. It has been handled with wisdom and sensitivity, and positive role modelling of wise ways to handle such matters.
