Dandelions are actually very pretty flowers. I've though about trying to make dandelion wine. Since I don't know what mead taste like I wouldn't know if I did it right, or not. I like this clever one line poem.

I had never heard this other name for "dandelion" though I knew Arthur and his knights drank mead. Much info conveyed in only six words. And internal and end rhyme too. Nice!

Thank you! Glad you learned something from this short piece. I have had dandelion tea - but not the wine/mead. I am curious...

I like how everything ties together with this six word poem. Your title, picture, A. A. Milne quote, six words, and notes all do their part to create a very worthwhile read. I've always wondered, but never bothered to look up, exactly what mead is. And, I've always wondered if there was such a thing as dandelion wine. I can't imagine.
I'm glad that I read this one, June. I've learned several things new today.

I've never tasted dandelion wine or mead - but now I'm curious. I have had dandelion tea. Thanks for dropping by - we all learned something about this yellow flower/weed!

June,

Honestly, A.A. Milne's would have earned a six (-; But you did a good job with your wine one liner! And yes, your author note is necessary to explain mead. For me, dandelions just yellow our lawn. We don't harvest them and I don't ever recall having a dandelion leaves salad.

Mark

P.S. Maybe a dark yellow for your text?

Best wishes in the voting.

They sure are pretty and they grow in the wild and many people have used them for many things. In the he old days they used them to make dandelion salad and make a wine of sorts.

Thank you for dropping by to share your thoughts. There have been many different uses for dandelions. Tea is one of them.

Cool! That's good to know. Still, I don't trust what has been traipsing through the dandelion overnight. Have you made dandelion wine? It sounds like a great use for that hearty weed! Best wishes in the contest!

Your contest entry is in good form, June. Your six words make sense and tell a good little story. The picture is perfect too. If that quote is true, then I had a yard full of flowers under the snow and ice blooming after it all melted. They are hardy little flowers. I like the added rhyme in your six words. Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan
