Yes indeed, we have the same scammers here as well. But like your examples, they are easily identified, they'll even threaten to cut off all sorts of payments as well, well done Brett, an excellent post. Blessings Roy

Thank you for this warning about scams. We are getting them here in Canada as well. I had two calls on Friday telling me the police were coming to take me to jail, if I didn't press 1 immediately. Of course I hung up. Problem is they piggy back on a local number so you think it is a local call. Can't understand why people want to cheat others out of money especially during this season we are going through

Very well written and good advise. The most scary thing for a senior is threats to their Social Security so the are vulnerable and preyed upon.

Very important information for others to read! Many years ago, my grandmother got a scam call from the IRS and they threaten to take her to jail. She was upset about it. We calmed her down and somehow, managed to get her to believe that it was fake. These people are criminals! Thank you for sharing this very valuable information. Hugs.

I have probably had a scammer call like this at least once a month for maybe 4 or 5 months. I have finally quite answering any number I don't recognize. Thank you for the update.

Hello...really this should be read by everyone here...It is awful these scams and so many people fall for them...I delete everthing that has abad send address, I tell people on the phone i will call bakc(they hang up)...if I hear voices in the background i hang up...in fact what bank in their right minds would ask for info over the phone...? geez
