I enjoyed reading your comment.
In many aspects, I agree with you. This is a great nation, probably the greatest nation on earth. The world war II was won by the greatest generation of Americans. The whole world owe them.
America is greatly divided now. I hope for the best.

hi
this is a well written, reflected peice or work. I think you are clear and ture to your beliefs. You are not sentimental and yet, your loyalty comes through.
I will not comment, for I am not American.

But, i will say, that if we can not treat each other with compasion, the world is lost, to any generation.

I agree with you, Larry. The generation that won the war is slowly dying off. I was five at the onset of the war and ten when it ended, so I doubt I would be classified in the Greatest Generation, but I remember them and I swell up with pride every time I remember them. I pray the same thing would happen again if our freedom was at stake. God Bless all those who sacrificed for our freedom lest we forget. Well done. Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy. I know veterans who have returned from many wars. The more I watched current events on T.V. or read about them in newspapers, the more I thought about writing this.

Yes, yes, yes! Eloquently and diplomatically written with thoroughness and good grammar, too! :-) May I please copy this and paste it to my Facebook wall for all my friends to read? I will most definitely put a byline on it. It's exactly what I feel in my heart, but have been unable to put into words.

You sound like a young person, because I don't know anything about Facebook or what you mean by "putting a byline on it." Just please treat it respectfully and you can use it as you have requested.

I like your ideologies you laid out. This probably should have been a contest entry. I think the only piece you may have left out is Freedom isn't Free. People easily forget that until they're held accountable for their actions. It's not just the people who died at Gettysburg, the beaches of Normandy or the jungles of Vietnam who paid the price for freedom. Many were beaten, shot with fire hoses or had dogs sicced on them to gain freedoms. Very nice job.

Thank you. You are absolutely correct, and I agree, not all battles for freedom were fought in wars. Some of the toughest lessons in life are learned through experience. Freedom isn't Free.
