You captured the fun of the hunt of phone cards! This was an enjoyable ode and you did a great job of capturing those moments. I too have a collection.

Glad you enjoyed the read !

It was more fun finding them than buying them

I guess your collection is mainly on America .. did you have to bend off a corner before using the phone card too? ?

Or are yours the ones with the golden magnetic piece ..

What is your favourite series about ?

I have a set of rare black and white phonecards on The Queen , theQueen Mother and the royal English family.. never been used.

I love my Chinese zodiac series too .. the dragon took me three months to find. ( biggrin)

What an interesting free verse poem, and what an interesting collection. Someday, they may be worth something, just because they were intended to be disposable. Just my opinion: I found the long lines distracting, and I think they could be broken without hurting the poem. I also think the digit "5" stands out and would be better spelled out. Very nice job! Good luck in the contest.

Thanks you for your helpful input .

I will open my computer and see where I can shorten the longer lines .

Glad you found my poem interesting.

It is very interesting .. there are many subjects and each card has a beautiful design and at the back you get the explanation/info .

The transport series included cabs from London, risciÚ from Shanghai, the sledge from Switzerland, the gondola from Venezia, the bike from the Netherlands, the Camel from India etc

The photos are very bright and the colours vivid.

The historical series included Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Armstrong, Roosevelt ...

Sorry for the rant . .. I just finished editing , hopefully it read more smoothly now

    Keep safe!

I reckon these card will be quite valuable now as I don't think they are used anymore? Are they? This looks like a hobby that turned out to be lucrative in the end and I enjoyed your poem about this activity, love Dolly x

    Ciao!

Most are worth the price I paid .. those that I bought and didn?t used are more valuable now.

To use these phone cards you had to bend the angle on top on the right hand side which was perforated to make it easier to tear off .. they have less value because the credit has been used.

Some very rare one have become more valuable of course ..

It was the challenge ..finding them and completing the series that made this hobby exciting..

its future value really never interested me.

I am glad you enjoyed the read!
