The destruction of our forests is a threat to the fauna, and like in that poem, a threat to humanity in general. Quite a pity to the poor Hukumuri! Thanks for sharing your experience and thereby giving voice to the call for animal and environmental protection.

Thank you for taking time to review my wee poem.
We confine these beautiful felines in reserves that are not big enough ..
We steal their land to build villages and cultivate crops..

This is a sad case. Where is the compassion for God's creatures that are at a disadvantage with a disability. How are they to survive? A beautiful picture that accompanies a sad naani. May Hukumuri be at peace now. Thank you for sharing and good luck in the competition. ~DD

I am glad you enjoyed the read .. there is not enough space in the reserve so males that eventually lose their dominance have very few options .. if they are driven out of the reserve, their lives are at stake from poachers and in Hukumuri?s case disabled ..if they target easier prey ( livestock ) they will be shot dead.
