Katherine's description of her married life was pretty much as I'd imagined it. She was so young when she started having those children. It makes me wonder if there were women on the side. Katherine was the one responsible for child care, and her husband checked in once in a while. The family life is much better now, and she's near her mother. Katherine is dropping all the reservations she had about Gabriel. Great characterization. judi

You're welcome. Katherine has a new life ahead of her, and it looks like she's ready to plunge in. Still a lot of responsibilities, though

Hi, Barbara:

How easy it is to make Freudian slips when answering the most innocent of questions!
Does Katherine really know that her husband
is dead? Maybe I need to go back further and
read because those noises in the woods still
rattle my bones. Stay safe and be well.

Dear Barbara, I like very much the way you slowly open up your characters so that the reader has a chance to get to know them too. We now know that Jeremy, Daisy and particularly Katherine, do not like thunder or lightning. These characteristics can be used as weaknesses in the line of defense, that a running back can use to win the game.

Barb,

Another fine chapter. I like the fact that they're getting a little more touchy-feely with each other. hahaha Can't help what's happening. They just cannot avoid it. haha

Notes:
1.) Thinking you need to get their hands worked out - first he was holding it, then she's touching the ball then he's touching her again - but there's not really any transitioning.

2.) "My weather (app) shows a large dark red band on top of us.

3.) "You don't need (to)." Another gust of wind hit the window.

4.) He slipped his arm around her. "I have a feeling they make his mom nervous(,) too."

Thanks a bunch!

Awe, Barbara, whatever you say, a budding romance is definitely on the cards. I love it. A strong man to hold you when the goings get tough. What more can you ask for. I love it. Ulla:)))

This is a beautifully developed and told love story. It is in its developing stages and moving with just the right amount of speed. I truly enjoy the respect that Gabriel is showing Katherine as he is slowly gaining more and more importance in her life. I am proud to say that if I were in his shoes, this just about the exact way that I would conduct myself.

Wow! That marriage was worse than I realized. Her husband must not have been the father type. It sounds like these boys have never had a real father. This is going toward a real romance but we've still got the mystery of why dogs growl and what has happened to the teacher who gave her so much trouble. I look forward to your next post.

The falling into his arms happened three or four times, so I wonder what she did in New York with hubby out of town, terrible situation for her. Her husband died young. So now we know some background from, My daughter, hubby and kids had a penthouse in NY, bigger in area than our house. Well done Barbara, great episode, blessings Roy
Typo : I'm guessing (lightening) hit a transformer. One lights a lamp, lightens a load.
