Hello Janet, this is a lovely tanka suite. I read it earlier but did not have any sixes - waited till today when I got my supply. It reserved northing less than six. Good luck in the contest with this winner. Love Dorothy x

Thanks for the great review. Winter is my least favorite season too but I do have some happy memories of winter. My son loves it so much, he moved to Alaska. Go figure. :))))

This is a different form of Tanka that I have seen so far. A rather complicated description that you have been able to adapt. The imagery you use is very fine and makes for enjoyable reading.

This poem totally reminded me of the first ice storm that I've ever experienced, 3 yrs ago. great imagery and good choice of words to see and feel by. It's like mini free verse this tanka with no rhymes even though the lines are a structured count. enjoyed!!

The progression in this poem is excellent, as are the links holding this progression together. Many linkers could be cited, but the one that pleases me the most is colour. Obviously there is the white of deep winter, but I especially like the more obscure one - the brown of leaves and hot chocolate.
