Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Such power in the last lines about
the traffic lights.
This really puts humanity in perspective.
Just so very expendable.
I love this, and I could sense, and
certainly will never personally forget...
the forlorn aspects, the uncertainties.
Great job!
Blessings...

You portrayed our dire situation brilliantly. It boggles the mind when I read all the things that we no longer are apt to do because of this pandemic. There really hasn't been any gleaming intelligence throughout this.
Although Trump has been blamed for so much, I really think if it hadn't been for his businesslike manner, we would be doomed for a longer time and many more would be dead.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and for your wonderful perspective on the piece. I am glad this helplessness of our situation came through in the poem, the idea that we are caught up in something bigger than ourselves. In the end, pandemics run their course, just like it did in 1918. We like to have the feeling that we are in control of situations and struggle when we are not. estory

The silence and distance of the pandemic
Apocalypse pt. 3

In this dark poem you write about the end times and loneliness. Separated by walls all alone using electronic communication. No spectators at the ball games or mourners at the funerals. Well done!

Thanks for the excellent review and its always great to hear those mentions of what works well specifically. I am glad those image of empty streets and walls and social media conveyed that sense of humanity being hollowed out. estory

Well done, perfectly displays the sad reality we are living in. Where are we going? When will this stop? Will it ever?
So many questions, so few answers. Thank you for sharing. Take care. <3

I can remember reading about the Spanish flu pandemic which killed approx. 20 - 50 million people worldwide, although they don't really know how many, the same symptoms, the first known case was either in Madrid or in Kansas, (it could well be American flu.) it mysteriously vanished after 2 years, this one has only been going about 12 months, (it seems longer) we've had little really here, the government handled it well, it's the danger of expats returning from overseas are the danger, but they quarantine them in medi hotels for a fortnight. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Thanks for the excellent review and for your interesting perspective on the piece. In the end, pandemics run their course and do what they do. We love to feel we are in control of situations, and panic when we are not. Faith in the Lord is the key to survival. The coronavirus saga will be only the beginning of the tribulations for this world. estory

I think you bring up a good point how humanity has retracted from each other. I believe the media hyped it up so bad people thought it was the Black Plague Part Deux.

This poem, Apocalypse Pt 3, reminds me of the short story, "There Will Come Soft Rains". They are not about the same thing, but the silence of a post-apocalyptic scene is the theme.

Well done Estory. The way you have written this piece reminds me of a lamentation. Glad that you were able to articulate the hardships of the pandemic in this piece. Great work.

The creation of these images from the early days of lock down entitles this to be classed as a prose poem. one thing I remember from those days, which you don't mention, was the silence, the lack of traffic and the skies empty of sound and con trails. It was a weird time.

This could be a typo or a spelling error:
'sanatizer' - sanitizer.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and for your thoughts on the piece. Yes this is kind of like prose poetry in that it kind of streams along. It is a bit different in that it is broken into dramatic breaks a bit more rather than running into paragraph formats. I wanted a mechanical feel to the language and the rhythm. estory
