Wonderful abstract expressionism. I liked that line, 'My lessons injure me, and yet, elude as well." I think it really speaks of how hard it is to really profit from experience and move on from it. I like how this piece ends in the light, a light at the end of the tunnel of adversity. estory

Thank you, my friend.

You write in a mysterious way. I take it that you are here living in this world but since you are aging you are not too interested in the society of the day. Your light shines for your mind not your eyes and you still love all those in your realm. Am I wrong?

You're poem caused me to remember one of my grandma's. It was in August of 1969. Just after the moon landing in July. I was a freshman in High School and my brother in 8th grade. We were excited about the moon landing. Grandma never believed anybody landed on the moon that it was a lie. I enjoyed reading your poem.

-Very interesting artwork,
and good presentation, Doug.
-Everyone will be getting a year
older this year:)
-I like how you capture the
spirit of this other worldly creature.
-I think the message is expressed
well as you get to the end of the poem-
it should be our nature to attract
the goodness the world has to offer.
-Another very good introspective poem.

I always enjoy reading your poems, but I never understand them. I'm a nuts and bolts kind of guy, but I find brief excursions out of my reality to be interesting.

Sometimes as we grow older, though somethings are easier to understand others are harder to see. Writng helps us spread ideas and emotions and lets our natures show.
Keep writng and stay healthly

An interesting poem that's a little hard to fiqure out, but I think it's about how we view the world as we age. Things that once have great meaning become less so as our perspective changes. Things that were once magical and mysterious become less so and something akin to despair takes it's place. That's my take on it and I'm sticking to it! :) Thanks for sharing.

You have certainly hit on one of the nail heads. Thank you.

Ageing does that to you, lol. If humans could just see that world, the one without hatred, but full of love, wouldn't that be the closest way to have a Heaven here on Earth? We are two sides of a coin, we need to find the centre. I enjoyed reading your poem, Victor. :)) Sandra xx

The beginning of self introspection is the recognition of age and how one evaluates his own life, but that's only the beginning of the journey, my journey has moved, it's a time of self evaluation, but then, it's in your hands, well doe, as usual, great write, blessings Roy

Roy, sometimes, I think, I may have even expanded you. But then there's my ego again.

This conjures up lots of images in the mind, my friend. I must tell you, the first time I read this through I thought it read, "and it shall 'attack' all the beasts of this earth." The second time through, it read "attract" but, that is an important distinction that I think needs to be pointed out to you. The meaning can be misconstrued with just one false interpretation. Anyways, a great mystery of sorts as far as calling us to read several times through.

You're welcome, Doug.
I am glad to do it. I have been in the hospital and recovering nicely but, I needed time to reflect on life. Thanks for answering my review and reaching out to me.
