I admit to being confused by the shifts between singular and plural in this poem. Was it an intentional change? I couldn't work out. Otherwise, I found it had a lot of positive qualities. It read well, and there was a richness of resonance that pleased me.

Nice description about the nature of writers.. Most of us feel that we do not belong to the World we describe, live and experience. But at the end of the day, we discover that we are still part of it, despite the "little travels" muses let us experiment. Nice poem and suitable recognitions as well: Six stars; Blue ribbon and All-time Best! What else?

I liked the picture you chose for this and I think it was meant to be with this poem. There isn't enough love in the world and I liked this little reminder at the end. Sometimes we get carried up in everything we have going on that we forget the simple things.

Dear Victor, I found this post fascinating and elusive at the same time. No wonder so many others have found this too, as evidenced by the all time best seal posted above. I am most happy to add this review to all the others, for this most creative theme.

I'm not sure we can always claim responsibility for the lessons that life teaches us even as we get older. Maybe some lessons are deceptive as in what is the cost of the word try? Is try an actual reality when whatever you are "trying" to do either gets done or it doesn't? Rule books on life are hard to come by when you are in the process of living. That word "interesting" is the same kind of deal, what the hell does it actually mean if anything? Perhaps you shouldn't worry so much on moving on with your life. It progresses as it will, regardless. Doesn't it? I believe you write these short precise moments so others will contemplate who and what you are, that way no one will truly know your brilliance. One thing for sure, you do tend to make people think. sighs

This flowing piece of free verse is quite thought-provoking. The first lines
remind me of lyrics from gospel hymns that remind me that Earth is my temporary home. The lines about showing love to the world do not contradict this "take" on the poem. :-)

terse and staccato notes through out the poem conveys an image of a person far above the ordinary ..a light to shine beyond the mortal kin. A high brow exercise for the reader and I hope My understanding is somewhat right.

All interpretations are right in and of themselves. I learn more from an interpretation other than my original thought, than I can express. Thank you.
