Ciao poet, you have three votes now ..
Some of my favorite films play in the desert
The EnglishPatient and Lawrence are two ..
there is something about all those rolling, ever mutating dunes and those dream like oases..
I can imagine these desert people in a tent ..quenching their thirst .. I think they would stay at these natural retreats a least a few days before moving on.
Camels are so well adapted to the desert .. wide hooves , their nostrils close to keep the sand out during a storm , double eyelashes extra thick and long
... any woman would envy them
Some other films involving deserts ..must sees in my opinion:

I am a fan of Judiverse and yes her poem with metaphor was a well written entry..
Nevertheless , I chose to give my vote to you because your poem appealed to me far more.
Stay safe!

A most unusual topic for a poem of any style, which is what caught my attention. Your commentary well complements the imagery. Good luck with your entry for this contest... ...ec

I enjoyed reading your Haiku. The image you selected places the reader there with the Bedouin elders while the goats and camels graze.
Very nice Haiku.
Thanks for sharing.

This is an excellent 5-7-5 poem
with very good description of the desert scene
in the interesting art work.
Those oases are critical to the travel routes.
Nicely done.
Best wishes.

On our 3+ hours bus ride from Eilat (Aqaba) to Sharm El Sheikh (which remained under Israeli control until the Sinai peninsula was given to Egypt in 1982 after the Egypt?Israel Peace Treaty of 1979), the bus driver stopped to pick up three Bedouins on the desert road. On our way back, a few days later, we picked up the same trio. I asked the driver why. He replied they wanted to be in the AC bus and were likely visiting family or friends at another wadi (-; It was a great trip. We rode camels and snorkled in the clear Aqaba waters.
