This is an excellent 5-7-5 poem for the contest
with wonderful imagery of winter's ice marvelous
structures.
Nice use of alliteration in the "f" words.
Well done.
Best wishes.

    Robert,

THANKS for your review of this poem. I stretch my 5-7-5 (contemporary) Haiku to frequently include alliteration.

Very nice 5-7-5. I particularly liked the last line. A frozen waterfall may be the epitome of "cold." Good lick with the contest. There are always many good contenders.

Thanks Susan for your generous review. My thought for the last line was the force of the waterfall occurs even when it appears frozen.

Absolutely! The phrase is often magnified in contracts to force majeure (sp?), alternately called an Act of God. I made those mental frog hops as well.
