Your words are quite familiar to listening ears, tearful eyes and broken hearts as a "Pandemic" classification in itself. You are so truly correct with such saddening devastation that each generation living now, must learn to adapt to and somehow step from day to day. You are correct. Much mental pressure, not even sure we recognize them all--me included. Sometimes I wonder how it is affecting me. Luckily I have my cat Keisha here, and I am coping ok, though can be emotional at times...it could have been worse.

Im just curious why someone who is angry at being bothered is necessarily fearful. Its odd, as I read your poem I feel not fear but annoyance. People sometimes are happier being left alone during a pandemic and unannounced visitors are intrusive. Im not sure if you adhere to any metre at all or is it more of a story than a poem?

This is an excellent poem and it's meaning was clear to me immediately. So many people shut out even good, well meaning friends when the darkness of depression and fear sets in. Your tale of bringing daffodils -such bright signs of spring - only to be left on the porch, speaks volumes about the darkness settling upon so many of us.

In your sentence: "Now wields its grip on friendship's hand.", the sentence throws off the rhythm just a bit. Suggestion: consider "Now gripping our friendship's hands."
Also in your sentence: "And now I truly feel alone", consider something like "Now I feel truly alone".
NOW SOMETHING TO ENCOURAGE YOU.

especially from a dear friend
but patience will be the virtue
that will bring you together again.
Longsuffering will be the attribute
that helps patience along
but love is the greatest gift of all

I'm fine.
I wrote this offering to spread awareness of the increasing negative residual psychological and emotional effects the pandemic has had on others - even dear friends. Their fear is real, and in this case, irrational.
I didn't write the poem to suggest I need/needed pity or encouragement, but I thank you.
