This poem, When I Was Young, uses all the required words and reminds us all of our greatest aspirations when becoming a famous was so important. Enjoying being alive becomes our mutual joy nowadays.

What a lighthearted and well written poem you have here. I love the opening daydream followed by the sweet acceptance of the reality of life. The story is so cleverly told in consistent rhyme and meter throughout and makes a gentle point as well. A wonderful entry in this contest. Good luck.

And you are probably happier and more fulfilled than with all the accolades of glitzy fame. The name Mom signifies love. You are spcial to the ones who matter. So - a lovely poem, speaking of dreams and aspirations, but also realism and self- acceptance, and the words have been seamlessly incorporated.

You tell the tale of many of us in this story within a poem. I appreciate all the working rhymes and the descriptions of all kinds of fortune and fame which never game true. Nevertheless, there is a happy outcome.

I love this, and I think it is something most of us can relate to. Most of us have some dreams of glory of one sort or another as we grow up. Often those dreams change or simply prove too difficult to achieve due to everything life throws at us. But parenthood is a precious privelege and to me, just as good as fame and fortune, if not better. In fact, when it comes to your children, you are their whole world. You have done a beautiful job with this poem, and have included all the words for the contest. Great rhyming and pleasant cadence. An excellent contest entry! Good luck! NK

While your delivered a good narrative employing the use of the required words within the narrative, I was hoping to also read a poem in this case that read more like free verse style. But was less prose and utilized more poetic devices such as any of the following: Alliteration, Assonance, Metaphor, Refrain. You do create some personification and imagery and on occasion you employed some end rhymes. Good luck in the voting booth and write on and write often.
