A clear case of a wounded heart expressed in free verse for the contest - good choice! ;) I would suggest that the punctuation/wording of the seventh line is a bit 'off' ... could you have meant

But guess how happy I am now former dear

...? Other than that, great imagery for the reader to relate to.. ;) :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

I found all of the required words and you have them all in your poem. It has a picture that compliments the poem and I like that you did not use a person crying or something like that. Your selection is much better. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.
