For a minute there I saw the koala and the kookaburra and put it together with BBQ. You had me going nuts. Then I read your celebratory poem and felt your pride in Australia .
You also deserve a special thank you for being a nurse.
Well done in your letting your reader celebrate with you in your words.
Regards
Mary

Very enjoyable poem about your homeland's special day. I especially enjoyed, "Today, my years clock 'fifty one'." as I found it a creative way to reveal your age. Nicely done!

Hi 4theloveoftrees, Thank you for your review and kind words
However that line Today my years clock Fifty one refer to my years of nursing I started on 26/1/1970 as a 17 yr old and I am actually now 68 yrs young I hope LOL but still working in nursing even in the Emergency Department at times
We started our training on Australia day so for me I have a double celebration that day
    Cheers Christine

In honor of my Australian friends on the site, I'd like to celebrate your homeland with you. Specifically I'm thinking of Dutchess of Drumborg. I always wanted to visit Australia and see the amazing landscape that is so different from just about everywhere else. I remember watching Australia on Nature years ago and being so intrigued by it. So here's to your day. Sometimes we have to be reminded that when it is winter up here, it is summer down there. estory

Hi estory, Thanks for your review and do come out one day There areca few of us Aussies on this site and it is always great to share our Australia Day with the FS world. It is a beautiful place and each state is different especially the North and Southern state .We have been around Australia but there are so many places we havent seen yet but I love travelling when we can.
Yes we are having Summer here but it has been quite cold many days , windy and not as hot as we usually have however we do have another month and a half. I love Summer

A very well-written poem in celebration of Australia Day. We all have pride in our countries, although the rulers are not perfect and right to our requirements we still love our land if birth.

Happy Australia Day! Thank you for sharing about your wonderful country. We are so blessed to know our Aussie writers here. Your poem also celebrates your 51 years as a nurse and we are grateful to nurses everywhere especially as you are on the frontlines during this pandemic!

'Australia Day BBQ,' is an extremely well-written and delightfully patriotic piece. As an Australian I have no trouble to relating to it. It was a pleasure
to both read and review this talented poet's work. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Who doesn't love Australia??

Great poem. Makes me hungry. We love BBQ here in Texas. Can I come to your celebration? I would love to travel there, maybe can plan it when this plague is over with. Lovely spirit in your work. We can feel Australia through your words.

WHEW! When I first glanced at your poem, before reading it, I thought that you were going to write about the devastating fire you had a little while back, all the poor animals that lost their lives. But this cheery poem was a celebration, thank God.
