A very well-written 2-10-2 poem winter that seems to come to stay forever and his longer the winter is how further the end of winter feels and spring to break through.

This is a clever simile that equates winter to a dog sleeping by the fire. It even brings to mind the "sleepiness" of winter. This was quite enjoyable to read!
Good luck to you in the contest!

This 2-10-2, Endless Winter, has the proper formatting and suggests that we may have this flea-bitten season around for awhile.

Hi, Bill. It seems you detest Winter as much as I do. We've a huge storm coming tonight and the cold lingers. Many thanks for reviewing my poem.

What a beautiful image! A great comparison too, which has been expressed very well in such a few words. Every good wish for your entry in the contest.

Dear Mystery Writer,
I have now read allllll these million entries. *smile* I had thought yours was my favorite but wanted to be sure. I have now come back to let you know - I'm certain and it wasn't even close. Yours had impact and a very special message that goes beyond the first level of the flat words.
The syllable count was just right and the presentation (and image!) were great. And all-round fab post. Loved it! Thanks and good luck. You got my vote!

It is an interesting thing how tired we get of winter when in truth, it is only 1/3 of the way through the 3 month season-give or take. This old dog laying b y the fire makes winter seem pretty cozy. Nice writing.

Winter gets tiresome for me very quickly because of the long string of dreary cold days. Many thanks for reviewing my short poem.
Comment from Victoria...
This one was both interesting and funny. It literally made me laugh out loud. I do have a suggestion and please understand this is simply my opinion, not criticism. I don't think the last line is strong enough. I know it's hard with only two syllables but maybe something like "lies still".

I am delighted my short poem made you laugh. And I appreciate your suggestion. But ?won?t move? has a double antecedent?the dog AND the winter storm system have settled in

A great simile here for the coldest season of the year and how to get along with it too, perhaps - our King Charles does exactly that when the cold winds blow - !!

This is absolutely beautiful. Makes me miss the East Coast with its winters.
The dog lying by the fire is a symbol of peace and serenity. The whole thing is cozy indeed.
Great imager and visuals, good luck in the contest.

I am not sure how anyone could miss an East Coast winter, but I truly appreciate your kind praise of my short poem.
