I share your disdain for those who would and misrepresent. There seems to be shame in the practice these days. The worst lies are those that amount to propaganda on a governmental level.
Each one of us is responsible for our beliefs. Propaganda can't work without on informed and discerning ears.
Best of luck at the polls.
Peace, Lee

It is a sad commentary that truth is often now left to behind as the last four years has left us with a culture that disregards or does not seek the real truth. We have become jaded.
I enjoyed this clever write. It is well said and is "truth."
Good luck in the contest.
Regards,
Mary

Truth is not really a human trait, very few will tell the truth, particularly about themselves. I'm afraid that's the way it is. And the disappointing thing is that it's endemic in society, but on a personal level we can be truthful, and let it infect others. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

The reality in life is, to tell the truth, w do not need to remember anything. But we treat it with great caution. It is never simple. I find this poem very interesting. Thanks for sharing!

This is a poignant write, we have learned to not trust the news and be sceptical about what we hear and make our own minds up. The facts are hard to come by and this is because the media want to sell their news and it has to be sensational to sell to the public. Are we ourselves to blame for this? Your words here are powerful and real, love Dolly x

It's so sad that there is no honesty and respect nowadays - Reality is
subjective today,
so lie away; we believe. - Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

Sadly, this is not a new phenomenon. People have twisted the truth since time immemorial to suit their own aims. However, in these days of mass media, the half-truths and lies gain a much greater currency. You have chosen some compelling examples in your poem to show the truth of this.
Let us hope that leaders of integrity can swing the balance in favour of more benign outcomes.
