Hi Janet. It sure seems like a long time since yo have posted, my friend. This is a wonderful look at the weather and the day. remember that song by the Mammas and Pappas, called "Rainy Days and Mondays?" LOL
I liked these lines in particular in this very well written poem:
"A day to stay in bed and sleep
or sip a second cup of joe.
But there are promises to keep
that rain and clouds will never know."
Isn't that the truth, Janet? LOL Bob

Well written and you do a great job creating images and sounds with your writing. The alliterative punch that you scatter throughout is nice, it adds to the cadence and flow of your poem. I live in Oregon and have grown to love the rain, especially the sound in the morning. Good job on getting back in the game, I look forward to more of your writing.

I really enjoyed your poem. The picture of the raindrops on the leaves is perfect. Great rhyming and rhythm. I especially like that third verse, reminding us that even if it is raining, there are things to do.
